CrISIS level 1 Workshop

CrISIS Continuum

The foundation of all CrISIS interventions, the CrISIS Level 1 Facilitator’s Workshop will educate and empower delegates to be able to provide effective support for individuals following stressful, overwhelming or traumatic experiences.

Successful completion of this 2 day workshop will equip delegates with a credible and robust tool-set with which to provide an effective support system for stressed, distressed or overwhelmed people, using the ‘CrISIS Continuum‘ – a unique and revolutionary development within the field of psychological first aid.

Key areas of development within this workshop are;

 

  • Understanding critical incident stress and trauma
  • Application of the CrISIS Continuum
  • Communicating with individuals in crisis
  • Understanding and valuating traumatic reactions
  • Interventions for individuals in crisis

CrISIS Level 2 Workshop

CrISIS Decompression

The CrISIS Level 2 workshop builds on the knowledge and skills acquired through participation in the CrISIS Level 1 Facilitators workshop.

Developing beyond the CrISIS Continuum, delegates succesfully completing this 1 day workshop will focus on working with groups following stressful, overwhelming or traumatic incidents by providing group ‘CrISIS Decompression‘ interventions.

Key areas of development within this workshop are;

    • Principles of group CrISIS interventions
    • Critical incidents within a group context
    • Principles of identity and arousal transition
    • Initiating & planning CrISIS Decompressions
    • Conducting CrISIS decompressions
    • Facilitating ongoing support for individuals
    • Evaluating the need for further group CrISIS interventions.

    CrISIS Level 3 Workshop

    CrISIS Briefing

    Online or classroom

    The CrISIS Level 3 workshop builds on the knowledge and skills acquired through participation in the CrISIS Level 2 Facilitators workshop.

    Developing beyond the CrISIS Decompression intervention, delegates succesfully completing this 1 day workshop will continue to focus on working with groups following stressful, overwhelming or traumatic incidents by providing group ‘CrISIS Briefing‘ interventions.

    The CrISIS briefing provides a deeper, more ‘in depth’ group intervention when the magnitude or severity of the critical incident represents a greater challenge to wellbeing and resilience.

    Key areas of development within this workshop are;

     

    • Assessing the severity and magnitude of critical incidents
    • Planning and initiating CRISIS Briefings
    • Managing resources to support CrISIS Brieifngs
    • Conducting CrISIS briefings
    • Informational and practical needs of attendees
    • Post-briefing considerations and follow up care.

    CrISIS Level 4 Workshop

    CrISIS Coordinator

    The CrISIS Level 4 workshop builds on the knowledge and skills acquired through participation in the CrISIS Levels 1, 2 & 3 Facilitators workshops.

    Developing to the role of CrISIS Coordinator, delegates succesfully completing this 1 day workshop will build on their CrISIS skills and focus on the day-to-day management of CrISIS teams and coordinating  CrISIS Demobilisations and CrISIS MASS  recovery operations following major critical incidents.

    Key areas of  development within this workshop are;

    • CrISIS and strategic planning
    • CrISIS team management
    • CrISIS & psycho-educational provision within organisations
    • CrISIS major incident management systems (CrISIS Demobilisations & CrISIS MASS)
    • Effectively planning CrISIS operations following major incidents
    • Developing and cooridnating a CrISIS response following a major incident
    • Organisational planning and procedural integration of CrISIS
    • Managing CrISIS resources and maintaining resilience
    • Liaising with Command structure & supporting operational awareness
    • Managing a complicated or large scale CrISIS operation and the community.

    Understanding Trauma

    Trauma can affect anyone, and yet it’s still one of the least understood issues that people face today.

    In the context of the workplace, becoming ‘trauma-informed’ is now starting to become widely recognised as a way of improving support for colleagues, improving organisational resilience and perfomance, and of course shaping service delivery.

    This remarkable 1 day workshop will enlighten delegates with regard to trauma and provide them with an insightful day of learning that will change the way they see the world around them.
